People can buy all the cystals they want, then sell for gold then buy the only gear available instead of grinding which is perfectly fine. However it cannot fix how bad people are at this game lol. The gear doesn't matter. You can full level in 2 hours then do a few things here and there and get gear. The hard part is playing alts and constantly doing all your progress to unlock your talents and that, you cannot buy.

This was supposed to be a "City of Heroes," spiritual successor. I just play city of Heroes Homecoming who were finally granted an NcSoft license and plays free. The city of Titans and Ship of Heroes/ etc, just never worked out. If a new, well developed hero game comes out, I'll check it out. Otherwise, just play the real thing. Also have rebirth COH as an option, too. No offense to those who tried, or promised, but it just never worked out.

There hasn't been a single Chinese online game producer that hasn't implemented some kind of greedy monetization bullcrap into their games. BDO has pvp still? Last I heard, they made guild leaders the ONLY person in a guild who can accept a guild war (one person gatekeeps gvgs). Last I heard, the capped content felt horrible at most caps. Last I heard, they increased the penalties for pvping. Last I heard, the pvp community has collapsed because they only like to make changes to suit their KR audience, even though NA brings in the majority of their profits. Last I heard, they're too lazy to cycle pvp seasons in AOS. Last I heard, in 10 years they only released 3 "battleground" maps, and one of them is just god awful and NEVER entered. Most improved game, though.
